January 2000 Minutes-Band Booster Meeting
January 13, 2000
Led by Diana Adamson
Read minutes. Motion and seconded to pass minutes.
Penny read treasurer's report. Made about $2700  for boosters, $2800 for
kids on
pecan sale. Sold 26 more cases of nuts, 14 more cases of chocolate nuts this
year. Very successful sale.
Concession stand didn't make a lot of money this year. We made $3K but paid the
dance team $2K. Wanda said that the dance team helped relieve the crowd pressure
for people who wanted only drinks. This was a very valuable service. If we don't
pay the dance team to do it next year, maybe band parents would volunteer to
help.
We're working on getting season ticket sales rights for next season's football
games. That would augment our treasury.
Note: we had pecans and jewelry sales back to back; maybe that was bad timing.
Either both together or staggered more widely apart would help.
Note on the uniforms: Our treasury doesn't have the funds to pay this bill.
Parents must be prompt about paying for these expenses so we can pay our bills.
Penny: it's no problem to email me with questions.
Wanda: when will jewelry $ go into accounts? Penny: Just got that info shortly,
so it will be credited soon.
Treasury statement was approved as it was presented.
=========================
We'll send in our second check to pay for Spring trip. Paperwork
is due Monday.
Amt is: $21,330.55.
===========================
Trophy Case update: Mr. Rombokas wants us to use same builder to assure quality
and safety
.but this will add to the cost significantly. We'll be in touch with
Dr. Fowler  to see what options we may have. May place trophy case in our band
room. No reply from Tom Butler yet on helping with the funding.
Coming Events:
Jan. 29 is the Chili Sale. Kids should have brought home
sales
forms; forms available here as well. This is an easy sale, many repeat
customers. Diana read the names of people who volunteered, ask them to confirm
if they're able to work. Anyone else wanting to join us, feel free to come to
the cafeteria 7am and put on an apron.
Chili money/orders should be turned in to school Tuesday the 18th.

vote, May initiate the new folks.
Question: not a lot of money in our treasury. Would we have more
money if we didn't do a trophy case? (Hasn't actually been budgeted; planned to
have donations and senators.)
Question : on p. 3 of budget, last item: concession transfer is
1200. Huh? (Penny says it should have been 2000 total; 1200 + 800 for Asbury
dinner theater.)
Question:what about DCI? (We fully expect to NOT receive a DCI
show. It's logistics, nothing personal.)
Anita  comment: uniforms are partially in. Boys tuxes are in, being fully
fitted. Girls will be in soon. Nothing will be sent home without a check paying
first. Expect dresses about Jan. 20. We're waiting on the invoices to determine
total amount due. Will be very close to our original estimates.
Concert band will have uniforms fitted soon for those needing it. We'll ask Mr.
Thornton if we can have a Hallman's representative come to the band room to
measure for white band shoes, or if each family needs to order individually.
Treasury people will be available after this meeting to talk about student
acctounts.
Adjourn.
