May 3-7, 2000: The Bob Jones Band traveled to Washington, DC and Williamsburg, VA for several competitions and some sightseeing..






It was a busy several days!! We left Madison Wednesday afternoon and drove all night. Thursday morning we toured Washington DC
Friday we competed in two concert competitions. Both Concert and Symphonic Bands won First Place in their division. Symphonic band also won best in show for their performance and the Symphonic French Horn section won a special commendation for their outstanding performance.
Also on Friday we toured Colonial Williamsburg.
Saturday we had more competitions: Majorettes, Color Guard, Parade Competition, and the world premiere of The BJHS Indoor Percussion Line.
Saturday afternoon we played at Busch Gardens.
Sunday it was The Ride Back to Madison.

Special thanks go to the Eddys, our link between the trip and Madison. The Eddys came in their own car and were available for whatever we needed--and boy did we need them. They took us to the emergency room in the middle of the night (it was only severe poison ivy), helped latecomers arriving from the airport, and relayed phone calls to the folks back home. Thanks to the Eddy family--they made our trip much easier.
