Bob Jones High School Band
'99 Football Halftime Show
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE 1999 SHOW. 2000 WILL BE ONLINE SHORTLY>
The award-winning Bob Jones Patriot Band begins its 1999 season with Marching Band Camp in August and carries that through to the last halftime performance in late October. From then the band prepares for a Winter Concert.
The Marching Band has 180 members including band, percussion, color guard and majorettes. We have 10 football games where we'll play at halftime, three parades, a special halftime show performance (without a football game--just a show) pep rallies and competitions in Decatur, Hoover and Nashville. Assorted extra performances will be tossed in from time to time.
Led by Mr. Thornton and Mr. Thorson, the BJHS Marching Band had a perfect season last year--nothing less than superior ratings at all competitions and a Best in Class win as well. We've improved every year and while it'll be tough to beat last year's record, we're confident that we'll do it.
The performance show this year is called American Dreams and selections include jazz and movie scores. It's sure to be a crowd-pleaser on Friday nights and the competition judges oughtta like it just fine, too.
The lineup: Opener from A Bug's Life;
Prologue from West Side Story; Big Noise from Winnetka; Nights in White Satin.
